Tree Care Partners is a leading provider of tree care and plant healthcare services, launched by CPS Capital to invest in, grow, and integrate tree service businesses across the United States. Currently, Tree Care Partners manages 8 locations, 55 tree care crews, and a team of over 276 professional staff. We employ 32 ISA-certified arborist experts that along with our professional staff, serve over 7,400 residential and commercial customers. We are creating a leading multi-regional tree service business that builds on well-established market brands. Tree Care Partners provides managerial assistance, business support, recruitment, training, and safety support for each brand, in addition to leadership empowerment, and brand positioning support within regional and market needs.

Chief Executive Officer

Darren has a proven track record of optimizing operational efficiency, nurturing a culture of innovation, and consistently delivering outstanding results. His unwavering dedication to safety, sustainability, and exceeding customer expectations seamlessly aligns with Tree Care Partners’ core values and overarching vision.

Most recently, Darren served as the Senior Vice President for Sales, Marketing, and Operations at Alert 360, the nation’s fifth-largest residential and commercial security company. In this pivotal role, Darren played a key role in harmonizing various workstreams, refining organizational processes, cultivating a unified culture, and empowering the company’s talented workforce. His leadership greatly contributed to Alert 360’s continued success and growth.

Prior to his tenure at Alert 360, Darren accumulated nearly nine years of experience at Comcast/NBC-Universal, where he demonstrated his exceptional leadership abilities across diverse geographies and various functional areas. Darren managed workgroups ranging from 250 to over 1,300 employees, overseeing markets ranging from 1.2 million to over 4 million customers. His multifaceted experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of organizational dynamics and the ability to drive positive change at every level.

Furthermore, Darren holds several certifications in organizational leadership, including being a Certified Change Agent, along with a Leadership Coaching Certification through Prosci. His commitment to continuous learning and professional development underscores his dedication to excellence.

Additionally, Darren has been recognized for his industry expertise by serving on the advisory board for the University of Minnesota’s Center for Sales and Leadership, a testament to his commitment to shaping the future of leadership in our field.

Doug Fisher joined Tree Care Partners in 2024 and serves as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer. He brings nearly 20 years of experience leading strategic finance initiatives and teams across multiple companies, ranging in size from $10MM to $150MM.

Doug’s expertise in working with private-equity-backed companies is underscored by his experience as both a PE investor and operating partner. His PE background, which spans various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, logistics, industrial services, and franchising, is a testament to his versatility. His strong track record in mergers and acquisitions, marked by several successful transactions, demonstrates his ability to lead deal sourcing, diligence, execution, and integration processes. Post-acquisition, he has played a pivotal role in establishing financial reporting and infrastructure, building finance and accounting teams, and contributing to strategic planning for new investments.

As a Chief Financial Officer at Tree Care Partners, Doug orchestrates all strategic financial planning and accounting operations, ensuring sustained growth and stability. His leadership extends to nurturing TCP’s local branch operations, emphasizing efficiency, profitability, and growth.

Vice President of Accounting

Jess joined Tree Care Partners in 2022 as Vice President of Accounting and is responsible for all accounting, accounts payable, receivables, cost optimization, and audit compliance for the Company’s branches and corporate operations. Prior to leading Accounting Operations at Tree Care Partners, Jess worked at Rentokil as a Director of Finance Operations where she gained extensive Project management and M&A knowledge over a 5-year tenure.

Jess started her career in the non-profit sector as a staff accountant and progressing into an Accounting Manager where she participated in taking the company into the for-profit sector. From there, she moved onto Penske where she gained her Six Sigma certification. During her tenure at Penske, she worked with the Genpact Hyderabad team to enhance the efficiency of the back-office operations.

Jess earned a dual bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management as well as her MBA from Alvernia University.

Nicole Highlands joined Tree Care Partners in 2024 as Director of Human Resources, bringing over 10 years of experience in building strategic teams and fostering a culture of excellence. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge spanning various sectors, has a passion for developing talent, and has successfully implemented comprehensive training and development programs that empower employees to reach their full potential. Nicole has a track record of enhancing operational efficiencies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Prior to joining Tree Care Partners, Nicole has lead HR initiatives for public and private industries. She obtained her education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and National University, along with various credentials including a Senior Professional in Human Resources, Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional, Human Resources Project Management Professional, and is a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Certified Practitioner.

Nicole’s strategic vision and dedication to optimizing HR practices cultivates a dynamic and thriving workforce, ensuring that our team is our most valuable asset.

Corporate director of Safety and Training

John became the Director of Safety and Training at Tree Care Partners in 2023, following his successful tenure as the Director of Safety and Training at our Tree Tech location in Foxboro, MA where he was employed for 27 years. It is at Tree Tech that we discovered his extensive passion, talent and knowledge of safety and training. John began his career and gained firsthand experience starting as a groundman, climber, bucket operator, heavy equipment operator and crane operator. He has worked in almost every aspect of the tree care industry. With this experience, safety and training became a top priority for him. He was among the first within Tree Tech to earn his CTSP certification from TCIA and has since become very involved with TCIA. He is now a certified instructor for TCIA as well as an ISA certified arborist.

In his first year with Tree Care Partners, John has made significant advances in safety and training across our various locations. He prides himself on being embedded at each location and working with the managers to improve safety and implement programs that help decrease accidents and foster professional development. John takes a hands-on approach, often found in the field working alongside employees to enhance their skills and improve productivity and efficiency. Based on his own growth opportunities, it is a priority of John’s to make sure that employees continue to be able to advance within the ranks of their company.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, John is a veteran of the Marine Corps, serving from 1990-1994. During his time in the Marine Corps, John developed strong leadership and interpersonal skills that have helped him advance his career to bring him where he is today. John was also a proud member of the Quantico Marine Corps Rifle Team as well as a weapons instructor.

Director of Operations and Integration

Jesse joined Tree Care Partners in 2023 as the Director of Operations and Integration, bringing with him over 15 years of experience in diverse operational and financial functions. His expertise spans payroll, accounting, project management, logistics, and vehicle management, giving him a comprehensive understanding of business operations. Jesse’s leadership has been instrumental in streamlining processes and ensuring efficient day-to-day management.

In addition to his operational and financial acumen, Jesse has played a pivotal role in M&A, overseeing the integration and migration of portfolios valued at over $360 million at a time. His ability to manage complex transitions has made him a valuable asset in aligning Tree Care Partners’ growth strategies with operational excellence.

Jesse earned his Bachelor’s degree at Bloomsburg University and his MBA from Alvernia University.

Chief Arborist

Andy founded Tree Tech in 1986, and through over 35 years of hard work and dedication, has led the company to become one of the most respected and well-known tree care businesses in New England.

With a team of 80 staff, nearly half of whom have been with the company for over 10 years, Andy has built a rare culture at Tree Tech. Under Andy’s guidance, Tree Tech now serves residential, commercial, education, municipal, and utility clients across New England.

Andy has accrued many accolades over his career, including the designation of Massachusetts certified arborist, ISA certified arborist, Massachusetts Licensed Pesticide Applicator, and ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ). Prior to founding Tree Tech, Andy began his career with Bartlett Tree Experts and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry.
